The Amador Sawmill and Mining Association is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization
consisting of a group of enthusiastic volunteers
dedicated to preserving the sawmill and mining history of the Sierra Foothills.

We currently operate the historic steam-powered Amador Sawmill and the Pokerville Mine
at the Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, California.
The A.S.M.A. has designed and currently operates an education program
in machine restoration at Amador High School in Sutter Creek, CA;
Our enthusiastic machinists, engineers and volunteers restore antique tools, machinery
and steam engines in our restoration shop in Jackson, CA.


The Amador Sawmill and Mining Association is the home of Practical Engineers,
Visionary Engineering and Steam Enthusiasts.
