Microsoft Corporation Presents ACE Award to Local
Winners
On January 4th, 2005, the Amador Computer Users Group's (ACUG)
Microsoft liaison Barbara Kreiss of Webcentric Computer Services,
announced the Microsoft Award for Customer Excellence (ACE) award
winners during ACUG's monthly meeting held at the Jackson Senior Center.
The Award for Customer Excellence for Microsoft Windows is a ‘Thank You’
program from Microsoft Corporation for recognizing outstanding customers that support Windows
technologies. Microsoft wished to recognize members of ACUG who have put
in many volunteer hours and shared their expertise with fellow members
and the community. The ACE winners were: Barbara Kreiss of Webcentric
Computer Services, Ted Langlet, Gene Sproul, Del Burwell and Jack Earl of ACUG.
Microsoft Senior Vice President for Windows, Will Poole congratulated
the winners: “It is
individuals and groups like yours that inspire our teams to innovate and
strive to create the best operating system for computer users
everywhere.”
In particular, Microsoft wished to thank ACUG and the chosen winners
for their continued support of Microsoft Windows.
MSVP Will Poole: "The ACE award is more than just recognition of
outstanding service, it entitles the winners to a complimentary gift
from Microsoft and an invitation to take part in Microsoft’s online
communities. This is Microsoft’s way of showing gratitude for valuable contributions, suggestions and advice about improving the
Windows experience".
Barbara Kreiss of
Webcentric Computer Services, located in Pine Grove (www.web-centric.net),
is a long time sponsor of the local user group and initiated the first
contact with Microsoft as Program Director in 1996. She was ACUG's
Program Director from 1996 through 2000, and has been ACUG's Microsoft
liaison and a member and sponsor of ACUG since the inception of the club
in December of 1994.
"As Program Director, and now liaison for many years, I have talked
to many Microsoft representatives, and they all felt that ACUG was one
of the top computer user groups in Northern California. It was nice to
hear from Microsoft that they felt the club was professionally run, a
pleasure to present to, and that they appreciated the club's
contributions".
The Amador Computer Users Group, a non-profit group which holds
its free monthly meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at
the Jackson Senior Center, is a member of Microsoft's Mindshare user
group program. The membership has allowed the group to bring in many
special presentations by Microsoft representatives to the local area and
the community.
